How Condom Are Tested- Manufacturer condom testing procedure
Condom test is critical to ensure safety, reliability and durability in real usage, integral for quality guarantee before are released to consumers. Reduce the risk of breakage or leakage during use, help to prevent unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.
Our factory specialize in produce OEM condom with custom packaging, operate six main stages of testing for condoms: Electronic testing for pinholes, Air burst testing, Dimensional testing, Leak testing, Tensile testing and packaging testing.
✨ Electronic testing: Each condom will be placed over a metal mandrel and exposed to an electrical field. Electricity will pass through pinholes to indicate defects. How to determine whether there is a pinhole? Rubber does not conduct electricity, none of electricity will register for these mandrels. Oppositely, if electricity reaches there mandrels, it is proved a pinhole or microscopic tear in the condoms, and any faulty condoms will be discarded.
✨ Air Burst Test: Condom samples will be taken randomly from production, according to the internationally regulated amount. Basically, the random sample will be inflated with air until they burst. The level of air volume and pressure will be recorded to check if it meet the standard, ensuring strength and elasticity. Failure discard the whole batch.
✨Dimensional Test: A condom dimension test is conducted by measuring the length, width and thickness of condoms, to verify the condoms comply with international standards, such as ISO 4074. Any condoms are found not to be measuring up, will be also discarded.
✨ Water leak test: Random samples taken from each batch production, will be filled with 300ml of water to inspect leaks. Any water leaks or seep out detected by pinhole lead to batch rejection.
✨ Tensile Test: Condom often will be cut into a standard shape, like a ring or strip. Lay the condom flat, use the special equipment to pull and stretch until it breaks, while recording key properties such as Tensile strength: the maximum force the condoms can endure before breaking, to access the durability. This is critical to ensure condoms can withstand physical stress during use.
✨Package Integrity Test: Random sealed condoms are subjected to a vacuum, automated systems to generate a pressure difference inside and outside the condom packaging, To determine the integrity through to bubble emission. Failure result in batch rejection.
